Aniek graduated from the University of Groningen and is a practicing attorney since 2015. She advises and litigates on various employment law issues, such as collective and individual dismissal, dismissal of directors under the articles of association, reorganisations, employee participation processes, collective labour agreements, employment conditions regulations and incapacity for work.

In 2020, Aniek successfully completed the Postgraduate Course in Employment Law (PALA) at the Erasmus University of Rotterdam. Prior to joining SteensmaEven, Aniek worked at a large renowed firm and a boutique firm.

Aniek is a member of the Dutch Employment Lawyers Association and the Art, Culture and Law Association

Aniek has registered employment law as principal legal practice area in the register of the Dutch Bar Association.

Based on this registration, Aniek is required to obtain ten training credits per calendar year in each registered principal legal practice area in accordance with the standards set by the Netherlands Bar.
