Barbara Filippo studied Private Law and Corporate Law at Erasmus University Rotterdam. After graduating, she worked full-time at the same university as a lecturer in Labor Law. In 2010, she made the transition to the legal profession and joined SE. Since January 1, 2022, she has also been a Partner at SE.

Barbara regularly advises and litigates in matters including integrity issues, employer liability, collective labor agreement (CLA) disputes, reorganizations, cases concerning the applicability of transfer of undertaking regulations, as well as individual and collective dismissal cases — primarily on behalf of (large) employers. She has been seconded several times from the firm to major multinationals.

In addition to her work at SE, Barbara remains affiliated with Erasmus University, where she teaches in the Bachelor’s course on Labor Law and in the Master’s program in Corporate Law, focusing mainly on labor law aspects of mergers, acquisitions, reorganizations, and transfers of undertakings.

Barbara is co-author of the books Kern van het Arbeidsrecht and Arbeidsrecht & Reorganisatie, published by Boom Juridische Uitgevers. She also regularly provides courses and workshops.

Barbara Filippo is registered in the Dutch Bar Association’s register with labor law as her area of practice.

Based on this registration, she is required to obtain ten training points each calendar year, in accordance with the standards of the Dutch Bar Association, for each registered main area of law.
