David works across all notable employment and employee benefit matters and is an expert in the field of corporate employment law. He has extensive experience in and specialist knowledge of:
- reorganisations and collective redundancies;
- employee participation (medezeggenschap);
- the employment relationship of corporate directors, including their appointment, remuneration, and dismissal;
- complex and high-profile dismissal cases;
- the drafting and enforcement of restrictive covenants, such as non-competition and non-solicitation provisions;
- incentive and variable remuneration schemes, remuneration policies, and remuneration reports;
- corporate governance, including the application of the Dutch Corporate Governance Code;
- Specific remuneration rules and regulations for financial enterprises and the public sector; and
- the employment and employee benefit aspects of mergers, acquisitions, and IPOs.
Before David joined SteensmaEven, he was with De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek, where he focused on corporate employment, executive remuneration, and corporate governance.
David is a member of the Dutch Association on Employment Law, and he regularly lectures and publishes on his field of expertise.
